Eastern Reel

The other nice slow reel on Capercaillie’s "To The Moon", written by fiddler Charlie McKerron. Works best on fiddle, but G#s in the 2nd part will give flutes a hard time! There is a flute setting on the recording, and I’ll post that below when I’ve worked it out. I’ve transcribed the ABC as Edor and Bmix for the 2 parts because that’s how they are harmonised on the recording.

For both settings, when you get phrases that go up and then down again, it sounds nice to ornament them with simple taps and cuts rather than full on rhythmic rolls:

f2fe could be {e}f2{=g]fe
and fggf could be {e}fg{a}gf
