Found this in a book by chance - and was amused to see it wasn’t on the session. Well then. ABC practice!
I encountered this tune in “Irish Minstrels and Musicians” within the chapter “The Development of Traditional Irish Music” which comments on page 133 along with an air and this hornpipe version:
“This old air taken from Dr. Joyce’s ”Ancient Irish Music" will serve to illustrate how readily a strain so simple may be converted into a typical Irish hornpipe.
I also found this this in O‘Neill’s ’The Dance Music Of Ireland“ and Joe Fago’s net-available ”My Practice Tunebook" from the monday session library. (much love to joe and all the other slow-session goers! <3)
