Farewell To The Tay

I don’t know much about the history of this one apart from it being an old pipe tune.
Popular in the Tayside area, as you might expect, and in Strathspey and Reel Society circles.

Its page in David Glen’s Collection of Highland Bagpipe Music at https://ceolsean.net/content/DGlen/Book18/Book18%2029.pdf gives the composer as Peter McDonald. This is of course an incredibly common name but I assume it would be the Peter McDonald who was the first Pipe Major to the Perth and District Pipe Band in the 1890s.
