Alborada De Veiga (Alborada Galega), X:2

X:2 is the version I have which I learnt from the playing of Carlos Núñez. He plays a 28 bar setting of it, many others repeat the last four bars four times making it a 36 bar tune. For some reason this tune is often preceded by a more elaborate fanfare than usual, 30 seconds or more.

As for the relevance of this being added to the collection, he did record it with the Chieftains. It’s the first tune in the last track of their Santiago album. He plays the last two bars a little different in that recording but still a 28 bar version.
