Thin Ice

A nice fun irregular tune which calls for the player(s) stomp your feet one after the other at the end of every phrase. Composed by Meg Browning and released on one of Niel Browning’s CDs a few years ago.

Also it’s a bugger to write out in ABC because of the wonky time signatures.

Re: Thin Ice

To be clear about the stomping, it doesn’t matter if it’s left-right or right-left, but it should be like two crotchets.

I’ve made a different vesion because the session seems to be very confused by the large nuber of time changes, and wants to make a new line despite the "\" command that I’ve use (which works fine in the preview btw, so when you, say, print it off, it works. So weird).

Either way it looks much better this way I think, and hopefully the note groupings aren’t too confusing to read.

Thin Ice, X:3

Is this what you wanted?

Re: Thin Ice

Yes Sol Foster, I tried so hard and couldn’t find a way of doing it so it looks right, thank you. Also, thanks jeff for that transcription, I think I have the rythm wrong!! The third beat of some of the 9/8 bars should really be a semiquaver longer. I shall have to rewrite this at some point.

Thin Ice, X:4

Okay, so I’ve now revised it according to how she actually wrote it. Worth noting that in the original recording there are finger snaps instead of stomps, but as most people will agree, stomps are in fact much more fun.
