Roughly transcribed from the playing of Jack Talty and Cormac Begley on their album Na Fir Bolg, where it appears in a set with a jig named as "Cronin’s", which is also unfamiliar to me. Might have a crack at that one later, but I figured I’d make sure it isn’t already on the site under a different name since there are three other very different tunes on that same album also named some variation of "Cronin’s". Anyways, this one appears to be an older tune since it is also listed in roughly this form in O’Neill’s Dance Music of Ireland, yet even older transcriptions exist of it as an air.
Thanks! It’s been a while since I listened to this album. The tune before (called Cronin’s) is Around the World for Sport ( https://thesession.org/tunes/3149 )
Happy to do it, it’s certainly a great listen! Glad to see the other tune is up as well, thanks for pointing me to it.
