Eleanor Of Usan

Eleanor of Usan by Aly Bain & Phil Cunningham

Re: Eleanor Of Usan

Beautiful tune, and of course, a slow air, not a reel (I know there is no classification for slow airs here!)
I usually play it in D, as does Phil et al in this clip:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_VrNka5iZg

And spelling: USEN, as per the track listing, tho’ several websites have it as Usan!
A couple of tied quavers missing in the first 2 bars of the last line of your score, Gero, but thanks for posting.

Re: Eleanor Of Usan

Oh yeah the youtube version is in different key. I added "Usen" as alternative name. Could you tell me where you would put the tied quavers? I could correct my abc text.

Re: Eleanor Of Usan

First 2 bars of the final line:
| G4- GCFG | A4-ACFG |

Re: Eleanor Of Usen

Yes, to match what you’ve put in the other lines. As Nigel says.

Re: Eleanor Of Usan

The correct spelling is Usan.
This tune was composed in the memory of my grandfathers late wife Eleanor.
They lived together in the salmon bothy in the little fishing village of Usan 3 miles south of Montrose.
It appears one person has spelled it wrong and others have unfortunately followed.
Hopefully anyone who has spelled it incorrectly can now rectify their mistake.
David.
