Bonnie Ann

Yes, another reel called “Bonnie Ann”. I first heard this on Michael Gorman’s album “The Sligo Champion”. I thought it was a cool tune but forgot about it for a while, until I heard it on the new album of Jimmy Power’s music called “Go Home And Have Your Dinner”, where the tune is named “Bonnie Annie”. I then realized that neither setting was in the database yet, even though both have tune links on the pages for each recording.

This is Gorman’s version. Power’s version differs only in that it is played single rather than double, the Bb note in the first measure is natural rather than flat, and he doesn’t play the first ending to the second part in Gorman’s version, but only the second ending, as would suit a single reel.
