John Stewart, X:2

X:2 is found in Niel Gow’s 1st Collection of 1784 under the title "Mr John Shaw Stewart’s Strathspey".

The Miser’s Pocket

This is NOT a variation of the one that’s here already, it’s from a book called
Best Irish Fiddletunes vol.1 by Paul McNevin, who have it from Tommy Peoples.
It’s no. 101 in the book! This tune are absolutely different. The other one is Amaj.

Re: The Miser’s Pocket

This tune is already here under the title "John Stewart" from the album Fiddlesticks (1991), where it was played by Tommy Peoples ( ). It’s possible that the title got mixed up with the other tune, I suppose. It stems from an 18th century tune called "Mr John Shaw Stewart’s Strathspey".
