The Chicken Gone To Scotland

A nice highland I got off Barry and Laura Kerr’s album "Castor Bay". I know nothing else about the tune, except that it’s a lot of fun. This is the version that Laura Kerr is playing on fiddle as part of the duet with her brother.

The Chicken Gone To Scotland, X:2

Same tune, same recording; this is Barry’s flute version. Subtly different and a nice variation from the fiddle part.

Re: The Chicken Gone To Scotland

Why did the chicken cross the water?

Re: The Chicken Gone To Scotland

This tune is on Journeyman by Gerry O’Connor
https://thesession.org/recordings/1270
(which is one of my favorite fiddle records).

The tune is not ‘linked’ on the recordings page to your new tune submission.
Will that happen automatically in time, or does someone have to do it?

Re: The Chicken Gone To Scotland

It can only be linked automaticlly if the titles match, so I added "The Chicken’s Gone To Scotland" to this as an alternative title. As there seemed to be some delay, I also edited the link.

Re: The Chicken Gone To Scotland

Excellent work, both of you. I was not aware of this. I’ll be checking that him out. Thanks for the info!
