Miss Ann Moir’s Birthday

Appears on Natalie MacMaster’s album Fit As A Fiddle. Anyone know who wrote this tune?

Re: Miss Ann Moir’s Birthday

Charles Duff. It’s in his 1792 collection, slightly different from Natalie’s setting. It might be interesting to compare the two…

Miss Ann Moir’s Birthday, X:2

From Charles Duff’s 1792 collection. Charles Duff lived in Dundee and with his brother Archibald was involved in various musical activities, including composing. They both published collections, and Charles opened music shops in Dundee, and died in the 1820s.
