The Moment Of Inertia

Composed by Matthew Hill and Josh Bailey of Lachlan, this is the second jig on the track "The Moment of Inertia". The other tune in the set is The Old Boys Session.

Re: The Moment Of Inertia

In almost every case, jigs are beamed with the first half of every measure always separated from the second half (i.e., no beam would cross over the middle of the measure). But given how they play this tune on the album, nearly every-other measure is played in 3/4, not 6/8. But rather than have constant meter changes, I chose rather to merely beam the applicable measures in 3/4 to give the player a better visual representation of the appropriate emphasis. This track can be heard on Lachlan’s album "January Winds."
