Mrgaret Ann Robertson

Composed by F.R.Jamieson. Anyone know who F.R.Jamieson is?

Re: Margaret Ann Robertson

Margaret Ann Robertson was Frank Jamieson’s sister. Jamieson (1919-1982) was a Shetland fiddler from Saandie Burn, and a member of the Shetland Fiddlers Society (‘Da Forty Fiddlers’) - their treasurer, in fact.

This tune was also recorded on track #18 of the CD "Lewis & Clark, the Journey of the Corps of Discovery", original soundtrack recording, for the documentary produced by Ken Burns, Dayton Duncan, and Erik Ewers, through BMG Entertainment, 1840 Broadway, New York, NY, 1997.
