Miss Cameron Of Balvenie

From the album The Legacy Of The Scottish Fiddle, Vol. 1> Who wrote it?

Re: Miss Cameron Of Balvenie

Sorry about accidentally including a > after the album name. Can this be removed?

Re: Miss Cameron Of Balvenie

Composed by William Marshall.
The A part should just be four bars repeated, but you’ve made it twice as long.

Re: Miss Cameron Of Balvenie

I fixed it up. Also, Who is the Miss Cameron Of Balvenie that William Marshall is referring to.

Re: Miss Cameron Of Balvenie

Marshall wrote a tune called "Captain Cameron’s Volunteer’s March" after Capt. Alexander Cameron who lived on Balvenie Farm in Glen Fiddich near Dufftown (Banffshire). Miss Ann Cameron lived on the same farm, but it’s known she wasn’t married (she was described as "Dr Grigor of Nairn’s maiden aunt"), so perhaps she was a close relative.
