From The Legacy Of The Scottish Fiddle, Vol. 2. Who Wrote it? Sir Walter Alva Scott was a Scottish Novelist, Poet, Playwright and Historian. He was born in Edinburgh 17771 and died in Abbotsford 1832, He was buried in Dryburgh Abbey.

Composed by Niel Gow Junior (c1795-1823), son of Nathaniel Gow and grandson of Niel Gow. In his short life he composed some beautiful tunes, including “Cam’ Ye By Athol” and “The Lament of Flora MacDonald”.
