Da Guizer’s, X:2

… and with a suggested chord sequence.

This tune (sans chords) is given in ‘Da Mirrie Dancers’. Pub: Shetland Folk Society, 1970. Ed. Tom Anderson & Tom Georgeson. (Price ten shillings!).

Re: Da Guizer’s

Gideon Stove was a Shetland fiddler. At First Day, Jan 1, the village men would dress in black face and go out asking for treats. They were called Guizers. It was introduced to the contra dancers by Scottish musicians and has become a popular dance tune in the US.
Sylvia Miskoe, Concord NH USA

Guizer’s, X:4

A setting with some chord suggestions. This tune is also by Gideon Stove, like Fort Charlotte which Gian Marco posted recently. Both are in ‘Da Mirrie Dancers’ - a collection of Shetland fiddle tunes ed. Tom Anderson and Tom Georgeson for the Shetland Folk Society, 1970.

Re: Guizer’s

This tune is exactly the same as Da Guizers’ March, which was already available on the site when the first version above was posted:
