Alzen

I transcribed this beautiful Slow Air composed by Calum Stewart from his playing on this album. My trascription is in Amaj/F#min. I believe Calum plays it in Fmin/Ab maj (4 flats) but I haven´t managed to play/write this version yet.

Re: Alzen

javivr, I suspect this hasn’t come out as you intended. I don’t know the tune from the recording, but I’m having a hard time understanding it from this transcription. Did you play it back as notated here before posting it?

Re: Alzen

Bazza, you may be right. It’s not a straightforward tune so any advice would be welcome. You can listen to the tune as played by Calum (and Lauren MacColl) during a radio interview on the BBC (min. 10) https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0116kzq

Re: Alzen

Hmm, to my ears it doesn’t even sound as remotely 4/4 (more like a stretched 3/4), it feels like your first notes should have been pick-up notes (thus moving every bar line a few steps), and the key/pitch is Ab/Em.

Re: Alzen

I changed it slightly since I now believe it is probably a 5/4 rather than a 4/4.
