Miner’s Fancy

Cheery tune from "The Celtic Fiddler" book, selected by Edward Huws Jones. I have play-along with cd edition - a bit fast for me to play on fiddle (though slow harmony line incl. too). I’d recommend the book as the accomp. cd is full of lovely music, and lots of the tunes are worth learning. Has tunes from Isle of Man, Brittany and Galicia as well as the more usual from Scots, Welsh and Irish sources.

NB It’s from Cornwall (6th of the 7 sections in above mentioned book).

Re: Miner’s Fancy

Have you read George Macdonald’s "The Princess and Curdie"? Follow-up to the Princess and the Goblin? Curdie’s a young miner with pale skin who gives a kiss to Princess Irene, she had so much good help from agin the horrible goblins.
