Also known as Tadgh Stenson’s.
There is 1 recording of this tune.
Tadhg Stenson's has been added to 4 tunebooks.
In the notes for his new album, Charlie Piggott says, "The first tune I picked up from the noted Mayo melodeon player Paddy Joe Tigue who hails from the village of Aghamore. The tune was regularly performed on the last day of December in the area some 150 years ago, as a marching tune to welcome in the New Year."
How do you pronounce ‘Tadgh’?
It should be Tadhg I believe, but I used the spelling on the album. I think the correct pronunciation is Tige, like the first syllable in tiger.
Changing the heading to ‘march’ as below will give the right speed & feel when playing audio / midi when pasting abc into apps eg. ‘TheCraic’ etc

The “right” speed and feel ! No such thing as a “right” way of course, what I should have said is how I like it ( more of a march than a polka), and more like Charlie PIggot plays it.
