Farewell To The Doherty’s

This is a tune composed by Rob Zielinski, an Irish fiddler, teacher and violin maker based in West Australia.

I had a pleasure to hear this beautiful tune played by Rob himself in Last Jar Melbourne in March 2020. His playing came with beautiful ornaments, double stops and other improvs so not a single section was repeated the same. This transcription therefore is a helpless effort to capture only a hint of the structure. As Barthold Kuijken has put, "Notation is not the music" (yet).
