Mick Flaherty’s

Second of two tunes attributed to Galway accordion player Mick Flaherty by Billy McComiskey on his 1981 recording "Makin’ The Rounds". The transcription was given to me by Aberdeen flute player Malcolm Reavell some years back. McComiskey plays this in "F", but it does sound familiar, and may be here already but in a different key.

Re: Mick Flaherty’s

Nice tune. Would be easier to read with a line break after every fourth bar. And I’d say the key is Dmin rather than Fmaj, but the B flat key signature is definitely correct.

Re: Mick Flaherty’s

Don’t think I can do anything about the line breaks, but I take your point about Dmin instead of F. Thank you.

Re: Mick Flaherty’s

‘Tis a variation on The Curragh Races/Maid in the Cherry Tree, a string down.
