Re: Farewell To Waverly Park

I’m guessing that it might be "Farewell to Waverley Park" after a street in Edinburgh.

Re: Farewell To Waverly Park

Might be mis-spelled in the original post? There is a Waverley Park in Edinburgh, off Spring Gardens and close to Holyrood Park. (I see you have corrected it, Nigel.)

Re: Farewell To Waverly Park

Ah! Yes, you might be right, gian marco.

Re: Farewell To Waverly Park

Just had a look at the map link.
You certainly can’t catch the Chattanooga Choo Choo from Waverley in Edinburgh.
🙂

When did Cathal live in Chattanooga ?

I haven’t the album sleeves
On YouTube it’s Waverly

Re: Farewell To Waverly Park

I transposed the tune because I think the original recording is on flute in B, not a standard D flute.

Re: Farewell To Waverly Park

Oh, alright. What makes you think he plays on a B flute?
Isn’t it more likely that he played it on a D one since the B flutes are quite rare (even more the keyed ones)

Re: Farewell To Waverly Park

I owned a B flute made by Hammy Hamilton. And the sound of the recording reminded me that flute.
Anyway you are right , in F# is better.
