i know this tune as the flying dutchman. im not too sure exactly where i got that from but it could be some fiddle tutor or something. i think that it is the tune paddy keenan calls the lost and found in a set which then goes into the hag at the churn and something about wind i cant quite remember.
anyhow it is a very good tune.
i usually play it after up sligo or at the end of a set
This is an odd setting of Castlebar Races, already posted by Dow at https://thesession.org/tunes/1160
The Dutchman had been down the "coffee shop" again.
I know, I’m repeating myself, but hey, a Phrygian tune ~ in this case B Phrygian, along with "The Castelbar Races". I hope this isn’t early signs of madness and I’m hearing things…
No it’s not! You’re mad!
Phrygeration ~ Of course you’re right dear friend, I am mad! ;-)
I have my moments, and I do love screwing around with things now and then… But have you tried twisting it that way? 8-)
Go on, you know you can and you want to, give us a take of this in Phrygian…
What happens if you rephrygerate a tune?
Does it make it cool? Will Flook reform just to play that tune?
:-D ~ A fluke? Euw! Have you ever seen them? Weird things. And blood flukes, really awful… You can freeze them and then thaw them out and they’re still alive…
