Breton

From Maggie Sansone’s ‘A Celtic Fair’.
Part of a set of 3 jigs (I presume composed by Sansone as they aren’t on here yet).
Really Beautiful tune. On the recording there are some ad lib lines played by the soprano saxophone. In the second time round, the sax is joined by violin and some lovely harmonies are created.

Re: Breton

Sounds like a trad "En Dro"

Re: Breton

No, definitely not like an En Dro - they are always in duple time, written either 4/4 or 2/4; you couldn’t dance an En Dro properly to a jig rhythm, it wouldn’t have the right feel or emphasis.

Re: Breton

Yes, actually our way to call 6/8 tunes is "Cercle Circassien"
