The Picc Line jig

All I can think about, when I see the name of this tune, is my husband’s cancer treatment. That was 10 years ago now; I hope the tune author’s picc line is as far behind them as it is us.

First heard this on an album ‘No time like now’ by Cherrygrove, played after The Lisnagun. I took a liking to this and simplified it for playing on a D whistle, a fine tune!

This tune was written by myself, Heather Shelley. I wrote the tune when myself and the rest of the band CherryGrove were crowd funding for our debut album. Mike Vass asked me to write his tune and this is it. Part of the deal was that Mike titled the tune and “The Picc Line” is what he came up with. He has never told me the reasoning behind the title, it may always be a mystery!
