How,what,who where…?

hi,jocklet - you’ve posted one of my favourite jigs but i was wondering where you picked it up from or first came across it.

i know it from the frankie kennedy mairead n

An Fathach Tireannach

I learned this tune about fifteen years ago .I recorded it in a session in Antwerp, other than that I don’t know much about it,and I’ve never heard it in a session since then.It is a simple tune, but memorable all the same. Jocklet

A nice example of how a good tune can arise out of basically four notes (A-D), with brief excursions to high and low Es.
