The Newcastle

This is not the James Hill tune of the same name. This tune is from the Northumbrian piping tradition and appears in the manuscripts of Kielder Jock (Jack Davidson) and GG Armstrong. I learnt this tune from the Northumbrian piping societies third tune book (page 25) the lower G notes are often played sharp but I have left them natural as they are often played on the 7 key Northumbrian small pipes.
