### Nell O’Sullivan’s (slide)

This tune was taught by Pete Cooper at workshop in Bristol last week. The tune is the first of two tunes used in a set for a dance called the Lancers. Pete Cooper’s source was Matt Cranitch and his band Sliabh Notes. The second tune in the set, which I shall post soon, is The Gullane Polka (which is not the same tune as the one already posted on this website).

Here is a more detailed ABC of "Nell O’Sullivan’s" including ornaments and bowings (for the fiddles) as used by Pete Cooper. The ABC code for bowings is that all notes on one bow are enclosed in parentheses ( ), and a downbow is indicated by "u" and an upbow by "v".

### Nell O’Sullivan’s (slide)

I learned this off a recording from Martin Mulvihill under the name "Denis Enright’s":

I see it’s also here under the title "Bridgie Murphy"

### Bridgie Murphy’s slide/Denis Enright’s

Martin Mulvihill called this tune "Denis Enright’s" after a flute player from Moyvane, County Kerry, from whom he learned the tune.

### Bridgie Murphy’s, X:4

Here’s C’s post from X:2 before. Looks like there was an ABC translation issue. Some players locally call this Denis McInright’s.

### Nell O’Sullivan’s, X:10

Transcribed from the ‘Pádraig O’Keeffe Manuscripts. Book One. Fiddle’ - available online via the ITMA at https://www.itma.ie/digital-library/manuscript/padraig-okeeffe-manuscripts-book-one

It’s on page 10 of the MSS and must’ve been a good tune to teach beginners. The scanned manuscript shows Pádraig’s bowing and accenting marks, and is a good starting point for anyone wanting to play slides.
