Quirky tune. From the playing of The Battlefield Band on “Beg & Borrow”. Track #4.2.
As the other tune they play in their set, they got it from the “Old Irish Folk Music and Songs” collection.
I think I hear an F natural in the 4th bar of the B part.

This is a setting of an old tune, probably English in origin, although it’s been called “St Patrick’s Day” in ireland and Scotland. Somewhere in my memory I’m being told the name might be “Black Joke” or something similar, and there’s a version in Playford, and it’s part of the Cotswold Morris repertoire, but I haven’t looked it up to confirm. It may very well be here under the “St Patrick” title…
