Chase The Shouting Wind

A fast 3/2 tune from Brian Finnegan’s album ‘Hunger of the Skin’. I have transcribed the base tune, although he also takes a cool whistle solo midway through, which I decided not to include. This tune is played in A flat minor, but due to key limitations using ABC notation on the session, I had to add this setting transposed up one semitone in A minor.

Re: Chase The Shouting Wind

Should have specified, no longer have to worry about low C on the whistle.

Re: Chase The Shouting Wind

Cheers Yans, your version is much better for playing on whistles. Not sure what I was thinking when I uploaded mine.. might have been a bit late at night

Re: X:4

..although the G sharps may prove a bit problematic

BenóKoroit, no matter what fingering you use, it’s a challenging tune for whistle. I imagine my setting is probably how Brian plays it, but I’m not sure. It sounds to me like F# minor fingering on an F#/Gb whistle. Making my head spin for sure.
