The Tattoo

Taken from 25 years of Celtic music CD set. Tune follows The Okarina. Very different couple of tunes.

Re: The Tattoo

I absolutely love that tune!!! I wonder in which mode it is. It sounds Arabic to me.

Re: The Tattoo

Both this tune and Okarina were written by SF Bay Area musician Paul Kotapish, who played with Kevin Burke’s Open House.

The Tattoo, X:2

Put into a more readable format for those who are used to sightreading standard notation.

Sorry but I just couldn’t sightread X:1 very well. (The "play audio" sounds the same.)

I added repeats to the 2nd part just to even the parts out, sorry if the original doesn’t repeat the 2nd part.

The Tattoo, X:3

Setting in Bm. I’m trying to find the best key for a session, I’ve chosen this one. It is still quite difficult for the tin whistle because of the G# though. I don’t think there is an easy key for the tin whistle.

The Tattoo, X:4

For mouth whistling along with setting X:3.

It is the same notes as that setting but everything is transposed one octave higher with the exception of the first 6 bars of the second part, those stay exactly the same.
