Jakie Daly from Patrick Street?
This tune isn’t named for Jakie Daly of Patrick Street is it?
Guess so, fiddlecrazy.
I used to have a recording of this tune by Arcady and I think they caledl it The Breton Reel.
Not “Breton Reel”…
Come on Mikea, if you don’t have the recording, don’t add or create confusion by suggesting titles. The so-called Breton Reel Arcady plays is an untitled Breton tune in 4/4. Now the tune presented here, though it has the same name, is definitely not tje "Jackie Daly’s Reel" played by Arcady.
The one played by Arcady is on the following page:
Now *you’re* confusing things. The tune presented here is the 2nd in the Arcady set entitled "Jackie Daly’s Reels".
Jackie told me that he composed this tune and the Em one that precedes it ( https://thesession.org/tunes/7729 ) on Arcady’s "After the Ball". They called them "Jackie Daly’s reels" on that record to make it clear that they were his tunes. This was after they had been recorded without attribution by Kathryn Tickell and others.
