This is a Shetland tune I was taught by Ross Couper.
It is on the Blazin’ Fiddle album The Key, on the track Harris Dance.
I’m not sure who wrote the tune.
Viollet Tulloch is an amazing piano player from Shetland.
The tune is in Bflat major but that didn’t seem to be an option.
Re: Violet Tulloch
It was titled Violet Tulloch’s Hornpipe, written by Tom Anderson.
Re: Violet Tulloch
Never to be confused with this one, also written in honour of Violet Tulloch, beautiful slow air by Phil Cunningham: more credits to Violet on the thread. https://thesession.org/tunes/13767
Re: Violet Tulloch
Very good reel indeed, thanks.
It has been published in “Ringing Strings” (Shetland Times, 2004), p. 51, where this tune is dated 1972.
By the way, another great tune was written in honour of Violet Tulloch : “Violet”, composed by Ronald Jamieson. It is a beautiful slow air published in J. Murray Neil, The Scots Fiddle, vol. 3, Glasgow, 2004, p. 218. ; as there is a copyright, here are only the first 4 bars :
M: 4/4
K: Fmaj

Re: Violet Tulloch
