Composed by James Macintosh. Another tune credited to him is “Macintosh of Macintosh” which is just a slightly different version of “Bridge of Inver”. Macintosh was from Inver in Perthshire, and was a neighbour and pupil of Niel Gow. He later moved to Edinburgh to play with Nathaniel Gow in a string band, and to teach music.
