Copenhagen Harbour hornpipe

This is a composition of East Galway fiddler Eddie Kelly taken from Éilís Crean’s album Searbh Siúcra (track 18), which celebrates the music of Eddie Kelly and Paddy Fahey. I actually quite enjoy this tune; not entirely sure why, though, as I generally am not much of a hornpipe person. It does have an almost sickly-sweet air, but it works this time. I’ve written it here with two variations on the first part as played the first time though, but note that on the subsequent times through Éilís and company switch them so that what is shown here as the first variation is played second and vice versa.
