Shake A Leg

This is one of John McCusker’s tunes, off his latest cd, Goodnight Ginger. I emailed him and he said he was more than happy to have it posted here. “It’s great when other people play your tunes,” he said.

What I like about this reel is it’s simple structure that still manages some interesting and new phrases. The first part is reminiscent of The Banshee (aka McMahon’s), and then the second half goes it’s own way–not exactly new territory, but blazing it’s own trail.

Re: Shake A Leg

X2 posted here is NOT Shake a Leg. It is The Hut on Staffin Island. Its the 2nd tune in the set.

Re: Shake A Leg

There are similarities, leprecawn, but I don’t think you’re right.

Re: Shake A Leg

I agree Nigel, X2 is definitely Shake a Leg - not Hut on Staffin Island.
