A Hundred Years Since

A beautiful reel from the Skye Collection, written by Scottish composer James Porteous (1762-1847). I personally think it sounds best played as a slow reel. The tune is in Eb major, but I’ve had to label it as F dorian due to The Session’s limited key options.

I think you have made a mistake in notating the bowing patterns, which has affected the playback of the tune. Rather than using “tied notes” ( e.g. | e-dcB c-def | ), I think it should have been written like this: | (ed)cB (cd)ef |.

Oops thank you! I’m still not too familiar with ABC notation, I didn’t realise those were ties! It’s fixed now.
