I simply changed the tonality to G major here, which is what was required for this tune, not Gdorian.
We now have; part 1 - G major
part 2 - E minor.

The first too bars, incidentally, remind me of Jacques Brel’s song “Il peut pleuvoir”.
I wonder, did be pinch the melody from some ‘musique Antillaise’ record? Or is it one of these floating musical phrases that keeps popping everywhere?
