Swilly reel

3rd tune in a bonus track set on album “Local Ground” by Altan after Andy [sic] Dixon’s and Ril Chois Claidigh. I wish I’d just transcribed it before wasting several hours trying to find it first 😉. Hope someone else loves this set as much as I do!

This reel was written by Ciaran Tourish, and is named after the beautiful inlet of Lough Swilly which lies close to where Ciaran was raised in Buncrana, Co. Donegal. This stretch of water is also known as “The Lake of Shadows”, says the comment about the tune in Altan’s The Tunes, 2017, p. 171.
