Re: Trip To The Bronx

Em… this is a really hard read without bar lines and line breaks, Logan.

Re: Trip To The Bronx

Fixed.

Re: Trip To The Bronx

I’m afraid not. Please listen to the playback. Sounds like a badly mangled version of “The Easy Club” reel.

Re: Trip To The Bronx

Any are welcome to compare this to the recording by John McCusker with Battlefield Band.

Re: Trip To The Bronx

I don’t have access to the original recording but, listening to the PLAY AUDIO, it makes sense to me.

I just don’t think it’s transcribed in a way that makes comprehension straightforward. For me it would have been better if written out in standard eight bar parts, ignoring the minor variations, rather than trying to be accurate to one performance/recording (although I know Mr McCusker likes to show all the variations). Even putting a double bar line at the end of each eight bar block would help.

Re: Trip To The Bronx

Not worth arguing about. Carry on. And if you’ve posted a tune by John McCusker, it’s considered polite around here to at least credit him as the composer.

Re: Trip To The Bronx

Sorry Kenny, I didn’t mean to suggest it was one of John McCusker’s tunes. I don’t know who composed it, but it’s not in John’s recently published “The Collection”. But the tune was recorded when John was in the Battlefield Band.

Re: Trip To The Bronx

I simplified it per Donald’s suggestion.
This is only my second tune submission on here, so any advice is welcome.
Also, I’m not sure what is an embellishment and what is the part of the unique character of the tune, so advice on that is welcome also.
