I like this slip jip played by the band OLD BLIND DOGS.
A scottish tune, i think

This was a "gaelic" tune, the title of which I can’t pronounce. It’s translated as "What pain etc….". I had thought it was an Irish tune but I might be wrong.

John

Are you, by any chance John Tilly who used to live in Guildford, Surrey, England over 25 years ago. If so we know each other .

Sorry Hetty, but i’m just 26 years old.

Another one Tilly. Do you know Jennifer Tilly ? Pretty girl, but not mine girlfriend 🙂

A jig??

This is a Scottish lament. The composer is not known for certain, but Simon Fraser believed it was written by his father, whose brother had died in the black hole of Calcutta. He once asked his father if he had written the tune, and his father broke down in tears and couldn’t answer. He never asked again.

How old is the tune?
