Nine comments

i learned it in Emajor - no mean feat on an open-holed whistle - and then realized Lunasa plays it in D anyway! it was fun to break it out at seisiun tho: messed the guitarist all up…

One of my absolute favorites!

“Hull’s Reel” ~ by John Rankin ~ (& Duplication of #2220)

To give the source credit…

Cape Breton tune

Yes, composed by Cape Breton fiddler John Morris Rankin, and the original key is E major.

One of my favorite tunes, definitely… I love it in it’s original key of E, I must say.

I also learned it in E. So far I’ve only heard it on the recording by Beolach, but then again I’ve never really listened to Lunasa.

Session A9 has a great version of this tune. Probably my favorite tune at the moment…

Hull’s, X:3

Great version, performed by the band Nova among others
