I got this from the John Whelan recording. It’s a fun tune but I often find myself wanting to morph into George White’s Favorite if I’m not careful.

Composed by John Dwyer of the famously musical Dwyer family of west Cork. His brothers Finbar, Micheal (RIP) and Richie are all noted composers.

It’s similiar to Eddie Kelly’s Reel on Gerry O Conner’s Rattlin’ Banjos album. Infact, I think this is what he meant. Not Eddie Kelly’s.

In our session we play the part endings as |B2BA BedB|AGAB G2

Duplicate…

“John Dwyer’s”.

Hi Osvaldo - thanks for posting the “Owenmore Ceili Band” recording. Most of the tunes on the tape [ which I also have ] are already here but under different names. I identified most of them a while ago, but never got round to posting the recording myself. I’ll try to add the links in the “comments” for the recording soon, so please don’t post any of the tunes supposedly not identified on the tape, as they are most likely duplicates. Just trying to save you wasting your time. Regards, Kenny.

John Dwyer’s, X:5

Setting as I have it in my mind from playing in different sessions (mostly Galway and Cork) or / and listening to music. I used triplets as ornamentation. There are no rolls, but those who usually play them can do it instead of any of the N (3NHN that exist in the setting (N is a note that would be the same one the roll would be based, H is a note one tone higher than N).
