Also known as Father Tom’s Wager.
The Father Tom’s Wager that’s already on the site is a different tune.I learned this from a Paddy Glackin tape that someone gave me.
I’ve learned this from my mother in the mid 20’s as Father Tom’s Wager a great wee jig and excellent tune for beginners and intermediatories. Making more copies for the session in "The Classroom"
Sorry that should read mid 60’s. I’m not that old !!
And neither am I.

From _Rockall_ by The House Band
Liner notes attribute it to Rose Murphy of Yorkshire, via Jon Scaife and Roger Wilson. It seems unrelated to the Em tune by the same name. The House Band plays it at a blistering tempo!
Rose Murphy certainly lived - and was recorded at the age of 76 - in Yorkshire, but she came from Bellmount, near Milltown, Co. Galway, according to the cassette sleeve notes. She was more probably the "House Band’s" source of the tune, rather than it’s composer, as although the sleeve notes say that 2 of her compositions are included on the recording, this is not one of them.
This must surely be here already under a different name.
Yes it is Kenny
