Jackson’s

I posted comments about the Frankie Gavin/Alec Finn recording yesterday, and found that this tune isn’t in the database.[ If it is in, it’s under a name I don’t know.] It’s the 2nd of the 2 “Jackson’s” reels.
I first heard it played by the Donegal Mooney family and Frankie Kennedy at a concert in Edinburgh in the late 70s - pre-Altan days. Coincidentally, the concert was very much the brain-child of the Jackson brothers of “Ossian”, whose parents came from Donegal. A great Donegal fiddle tune.

about Jackson’s reel

Coud it be possible to have the Micheal Coleman version of this tune as composed and registered by him.

Tank you

I don’t know for certain, but I don’t think that Michael Coleman ever recorded this particular “Jackson’s” reel.

Re: Jackson’s

This reel is generally known as “Jackson’s Hi Ho”. Josephine Keegan published it in jig time as “Jackson’s Heigho”.
