I’ve taken the plunge and posted my first little tune. It is a double jig inspired by the name coined by Kerri/Fiddler on vermouth. Thanks, Kerri!
I didn’t put in any ornamentation, first because the long rolls on the dotted quarter notes in the A part are fairly obvious, and second because those long notes actually sound kinda neat played long and straight. The first part is supposed to sound like shovelling the heavy wet snow and isn’t particularly uplifting. For the second part I thought about that wonderful feeling of straightening your back and looking behind you at the shovelled walk, knowing that it’s time to go in for you first cup of coffee.
A number of variations occured to me as I was picking this out, and I am sure they will occur to you, too. I would be happy to hear about them. Please try the tune and let me know what you think! (Also let me know if I just copied down someone else’s half-recalled tune…)
Hey, I really like this tune! thanks for posting it!
