The Leitrim Bucks

If you’re fed up with “The Bucks Of Oranmore”, try this alternative version from Co.Leitrim. Recorded by Frankie Gavin on his solo flute album. Also by the MacNamara family on “Leitrim ’s Hidden Treasures”, although they call it “Leitrim’s Greig’s Pipes” for some reason.

A buck is not a buck …?

Catherine McEvoy called this tune The Leitrim Bucks. The version by the McNamara fanily is more like the trad version Catherine plays. Very different feel than the B of O - the Oranmore tune is more driven. This tune has a more laid back feeling… to me, anyway.

First off, it’s [Willie] Clancy

And that isn’t him playing the tune, just an attendee at the WCSS, Moss Landmann.
