The Cat Rambles to the Child’s Saucepan
With the thread going now on slides, and all the talk and tunes about cats and mice, this tune fits right in!
I’ve heard this recorded by the Chieftains and Cherish the Ladies, both featuring whistles in higher registers. I pulled this off the “Best of ” Cherish the Ladies compilation and transposed it down to D to avoid any jumps out of first position. We typically play this in a set after Denis Murphy’s slide.

This is called Mary Willie’s in the great set of the Bothy Band
“Out of the Wind into the Sun” Slides the middle slide.
The Chieftains played it in C, which I learned from “The Best of the Chieftains”.
