The Frog has been added to 13 tunebooks.
The tune is the second reel in a set. The first was posted yesterday - Tanga’s Reel.
It’s called the Frog because it has a jump in it with the dropped beats in the A section and also because I had lost my voice that day.
It would be great if I could get more setting from Will, Dow and anyone else like I did for my last one; that was great. Any comments good or bad also taken in good faith.
Seems to be about cane toads though … I’m having a problem with the seventh bar, just before the first repeat. Are those a quarter note triplet? It seems like it’s either missing a note or a rest.
Suggestions Donough? Do you finger pick this one or …
Apologies for not replying to the question in 2004 - well better late than never. Just in case you ever happen to look here again.
In my comment above I did explain that there was a dropped beat and that is in the 7th bar of the A Section. So the triplet is just an ordinary one equivalent to two 1/8th notes. Don’t try putting a rest in there pleeease!
I don’t finger-pick this. I pulled it together on the mandolin and it was written more with fiddle in mind.
