Conlágh’s Big Day

A Brian Finnegan composition off Flook’s “Rubai”. I can’t decide what to think about this tune. I used to think it sounded like a jingle for a supermarket advert, and so I loathed it. But I’ve heard it played so often in our session that the damn thing got stuck in my head and wouldn’t go away, so I just learnt it. I’m sure there are a lot of people out there who want the dots for it as it’s quite difficult to pick up by ear off the CD. It’s such a weird tune, and quite difficult to play too.

Conlágh’s Big Day

I think bar3 in the 1st part
|D2AD cDGD|
is pretty strange, if that’s not just an error 😉

what’s about my pedestrian’s version?
|D2AD bDbd|

Any better solution or does anybody understand what Brian plays there?

That’s definitely what he’s playing in the recording. I think it’s weird too actually…

I think it is well cool.

You would 🙂

That “D2AD cDGD” tends to ruin it for me… the rest isn’t a bad tune, but that one bit is odd
